Course Description :

Farm machinery represent one of the most important components of any farming system. Therefore, the understanding of specification, operation and the principles behind the design of farm machinery is essential for all those involved in agricultural practices. The main objectives of this designed course, is to provide faculty students with basic knowledge of structural design, operation methods and major information about functional requirements of different farm equipment. It aids also in developing knowledge and skills necessary to advise and assists farmers in applications of efficient operations of a wide range of agricultural machinery. The content of the course includes: basic machine elements; power transmission components and systems; hydraulic systems; farm tractors and their uses; internal combustion engines; tillage, planting and spraying implements; crop cultivation, crop harvesting, hay and forage handling machinery; field capacity and machinery selection.
