The School of Agriculture at the University of Jordan proudly announces a significant academic achievement for Professor Ahmad Katbeh, Professor of Insect Taxonomy in the Department of Plant Protection, who has been appointed as the President of the Arab Society for Plant Protection (ASPP) for the 2025–2028 term during the 14th Arab Congress of Plant Protection in Algiers, Algeria; this prestigious role places him at the leading position of the ASPP—a non-profit, professional, and scholarly organization established in 1977 with over 700 members globally—which is dedicated to promoting research, education, and extension activities related to pests, providing science-based information, and fostering awareness to ensure Plant Health for Sustainable Food Security across the Arab world and beyond, an appointment that underscores the high caliber of academic excellence maintained by the University of Jordan's faculty.
