Within the framework of the Employment Readiness Program, students from the Department of Animal Production at the School of Agriculture visited Alyoum Food Company in Al-Hallabat, northeast of Jordan, last Saturday.

Organized by faculty members Dr. Mohannad Abu Ajamieh, Dr. Mohamed Ayoub Abedal-Majed, and Dr. Mohammad Al-Qaisi, the visit featured a tour of the company’s facilities, where staff offered detailed insights into various production processes.

After a warm welcome by the company, the tour started with a visit to the first and largest industrial bakery in Jordan. There, the students learned about the factory's operations and the modern equipment used to produce a wide variety of breads, pastries, and snacks, in addition to receiving a detailed explanation of how the different production lines work.

Afterwards, the students visited the dairy and juice factory, where they listened to explanations from factory supervisors regarding the production processes for various dairy products and cheeses. This included the entire cycle, from receiving and inspecting milk quality for compliance with specifications, through the various manufacturing stages, to the final product.
The students also toured the plastic manufacturing facility, where containers are produced to meet the company’s internal requirements using diverse state-of-the-art technologies and equipment.

The visit concluded with a tour of the Alyoum dairy farm, currently home to approximately 3,000 cattle. The herd includes 2,000 dairy cows, each producing an average of 33 kg of milk daily. Notably, the facility is designed with a total capacity to accommodate up to 15,000 head.

At the end of the visit, the company provided students with snacks and thoughtful gifts of the company's products.
