PhD in Animal Production / Program Overview

Background to the program and subject area:

The doctoral program of “Animal production” addresses the preparation of qualified specialists equipped with training and expertise in farm animal production, which mainly include nutrition, physiology, reproduction, feed resources, management, genetic improvement and diseases. The Animal Production Department will cover all activities related to teaching and supervision of doctoral students. The research topics should comply with local or international importance for solving problems that face animal production sector.

To be the pioneers and experts in animal production at the local, regional and global levels.

To develop human resources, conduct scientific research and provide consultation services at the best level of professional quality and excellence.

Program Aims:

1.         Advanced research oriented towards increasing animal productivity in Jordan

2.    Provide graduate students who are able to lead research projects in the field of Animal science at the academic level and in public and private sectors.

3.   Provide graduate students who are capable of academic work, including teaching and supervising of graduate students.

4.  Provide graduate students who are able to give technical and scientific advice to local and regional institutions in the fields of animal sciences
