Within the framework of communication and cooperation with scientists working in prestigious institutions, Dr. Awais Khan, Associate Professor in the Department of Plant Sciences and Plant Pathology/Cornell University, visited the College of Agriculture at exactly nine o'clock in the morning on Tuesday, 12/12/2023, where he was welcomed by Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Ayed Al-Abdallat, Vice Dean, Professor Dr. Nihad Samirat, Assistant Dean for Alumni Affairs Affairs/ Rapporteur of the Seminars Committee, and Head of the Plant Protection Department. The Dean welcomed Dr. Khan and discussed research and teaching cooperation between the School of Agriculture at the two universities.
The visit included the following activities:
10:00 – 11:00 am: A tour of the School facilities, especially the Departments of Horticulture and Crop Science and the Department and the Plant Protection
11:00 – 1:00 pm in the afternoon: Delivering a symposium entitled
“Genetics and Breeding for Disease Resistance in Apples: Challenges and New Opportunities"
In the Ishbili Amphitheater at the invitation of the Seminars Committee at the School of Agriculture. The symposium was attended by faculty members, students, and representatives from the private sector.
1:00-3:00 pm: Scientific discussion with members of the teaching and administrative staff in the Department the Departments of Horticulture and Crop Science and the Department and the Plant Protection.
